The purpose of this position is to manage the trust accounts of First United Bank and Trust Company. The position will administer Trust relationships, as well as network and build relationships. Responsible for helping customers understand the trust document we administer for their benefit and how the trust assets fit within their overall financial plan. Responsible for building relationships and providing sound fiduciary guidance.

The primary duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
~Position will have shared responsibility for managing relationships, including Trust administration and interface with clients, attorneys and CPAs.
~Manage account opening, ongoing administration, annual reviews and account closing procedures.
~Produce and organize all necessary and requested materials for regulatory authorities and auditors and provide onsite responses and support during examinations and audits.
~Prepares reports for Trust Committee meetings.
~Ensures all accounts meet federal and local banking requirements, laws and regulations.
~Administer trust account according to its legal purpose and directions, paying as spelled out in trust agreement, making investments of principal, loans when permissible, and completing all necessary tax forms.
~Responsible for the supervision of the institution’s trust department
~Coordinates investment of trust assets
~Oversees report of trust activities
~Assists or manages institution bond portfolio and other investments; usually including cash and Federal Funds position
~Oversees the operation of the Bank’s Investment Brokerage Department
~Serves as a member of the Asset-Liability Management Committee

Job Requirements

The applicant must have strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Must have good organization, time management, and people skills. The individual should be capable of working in a team environment as well as the ability to work independently. Positive attitude and the ability to multitask are required. Should be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; professional course work in related trust discipline. 4-year degree in related discipline required (advance degree preferred) with knowledge of investments. Should have a minimum of 5-years of experience in Trust Department, or related industry, in administration, investment and management.
